In his empowerment text for the Treasury of Siddhis: Sadhana of the Main Deity & Retinue of the Sambhogakaya Medicine Buddha Guru Jamgön Kongtrül wrote:

“The soothing great medicine Guru, Yuthog Yönten Gönpo (1126-1202), manifesting through his enlightened form of primordial wisdom, truly took beings under his care and blessed them. Lathog Zurkhar Nyamnyi Dorje (1439-1475) took (Yuthog Yönten Gönpo Guru Yoga) as his personal practice. The lineage transmission from Nyamnyi Dorje passed down to the great Drigungpa glorious Chökyi Dragpa (1595-1659) who illuminated this practice with his Sambhogakaya Medicine Guru Sadhana. This sadhana and the connected blessing have been passed on in a sublime long lineage without interruption.”
